THEATER “U MOSTA” Perm, Russia

“THE LONESOME WEST” – RUSSIA

The performance is a nominee of the National Prize “GOLDEN MASK 2008”. There are the usual inhabitants if the Irish village in the center of the plot. McDonagh’s plays – absurd, ironic and bloody – very much resemble Tarantino’s films. Chilling scenes are ridiculous and at the same time creative. At first glance, mocking stories about a tiny Irish village does not fit Russian theater, with its seriousness and detailed psychologism. But here in Perm the play “The Lonesome West”, where there are a murder, two suicides and many other things, seems appropriate, funny and even aching.

POCKET THEATRE STUDIO Ljubljana, Slovenia

“IBSEN’S WOMEN” – SLOVENIA

Without Ibsen – at backstage – is a woman who does not want to get stuck, and in her psyche, she creates a labyrinth to our modern days. The space between the backstage and the stage is in the psychology, society and time.

We see a woman who finds out why she gets stuck again and again in the same critical situations with people: in the fixed dramatic text of Ibsen, she does not have control of herself; her speech is separated from her self (the internal monologue) and, therefore, looking for an exit from an aging, no more functional existence.

To the viewers she puts up a mirror for our time: in hundred years; what did we humans loose on the way and found again?”

PULS THEATER BELGRADE AND TERIREM PRODUCTION – Belgrade, Serbia

“KIRI AND KLODEL”

Kiri and Klodel  come into the void in front of the Wall to play their drama of unnecessary play. In a world that has long needed neither knowledge of man nor the creation of beauty or meaning, two eternal principles clash: faith versus doubt, service to the learned truths versus revolution. The drama describes the process in which a new myth emerges from each myth, which prevents further search, but at the same time provides meaning and solace. In this process, only compassion, an insight into one another, and a willingness to restrain one’s nature in the effort of understanding, lead to fulfillment.

THEATER COMEDYSkopje, Macedonia

“WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN”

Pedro Almodovar is the most successful and world-recognized Spanish director, author and producer of his generation. He is a director of explosive coloring, and the colors are light. His characters go through turbulent fabulous labyrinths, but in the end, they always find the light. Just like in life. The river of humankind, no matter the dark canons and dangerous meanders, flows into the ocean of love. That’s why Almodovar creates melodramas that happen to characters with striking masks of life – actresses, prostitutes, shemales, nuns, homosexuals .

The script for Almodovar’s film is also adapted for a musical, which was performed on Broadway in New York and West End in London.
